EASY DIAL is a program that was designed as a phone
dialer to be used with EASY START MENU!. It is
compatable with the Hayes AT command set. It may also be
used as a stand alone dialer, but does not have much
functionality in that respect as there is no facility to
maintain a list of numbers or names in EASY DIAL. This
is provided by EASY START MENU!.
EASY DIAL as used with EASY START MENU! is quite
useful. A menu would be created using the Settings -
Edit Menus - Add Menu option. The name of the menu could
be "Telephone" or something similar. The menu and any or
all of the numbers may be password protected. The menu
item entry would be done as follows:
Menu item description: Name of person or Company to
call.
Menu item command: EZDIAL.EXE
Arguments: The number to dial.
Password: Whatever you desire.
If a pause is needed in the telephone number enter a
comma where the pause is to be. Each comma is a three
second pause.
The first time EASY DIAL is used it will ask if you
are using a tone or pulse phone, and which COMM port your
modem is using. It will then dial the number that was
requested. A window is opened on the screen stating who
you are calling and the number. If your modem has a
speaker you will hear EASY DIAL dialing the number. Pick
up the handset and press the space bar. This will hang
up the modem leaving your connection to the handset live.
